I started embroidering during my visual arts course. Initially, I embroidered on paper, but I am practicing on various types of fabric to move away from paper.
I can say that during my course, I did not receive support for artistic embroidery because, for some teachers, embroidery is not part of the visual arts course.
I find this argument surreal, as I presented several artists who work with both embroidery and crochet. In other words, they work with textile art, which was also not well regarded.
In any case, I will continue to improve my textile skills, but I am aware that I will never receive recognition because, unfortunately, it is not talent that defines recognition, but rather how much “sponsorship” some people have.
Iniciei o bordado, durante o curso de artes visuais. Inicialmente, fazia bordados em papel mas estou treinando em vários tipos de tecidos para sair do papel.
Posso dizer que durante o meu curso, não obtive apoio com o bordado artístico pois para alguns professores, bordado não faz parte do curso de artes visuais.
Acho surreal este argumento pois apresentei inúmeros artistas que trabalham tanto com o bordado quanto o crochet. Ou seja, trabalham com a arte têxtil o que também não foi bem visto.
Enfim, irei continuar me aperfeiçoando com o têxtil mas tenho em mente que reconhecimento nunca terei pois não é o talento que define o reconhecimento infelizmente mas sim o quanto de "apadrinhamento" alguns possuem.
